Storage Gidea Park Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Storage Gidea Park provides storage, handling, and related removal support services to you. By placing a booking, paying a deposit, or using our facilities or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with any booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Client means the person, firm, or company who requests or receives services from Storage Gidea Park.
Services means any storage, loading, unloading, collection, delivery, handling, packing, or removal-related assistance provided by Storage Gidea Park.
Items means any goods, personal possessions, furniture, equipment, or other property accepted by Storage Gidea Park for storage, handling, or related services.
Agreement means the contract between Storage Gidea Park and the Client incorporating these Terms and Conditions and any written quotation or confirmation issued by Storage Gidea Park.
Site means any facility, warehouse, yard, or other premises used by Storage Gidea Park to provide the Services.
2. Scope of Services
Storage Gidea Park provides storage facilities and associated services, which may include coordination with removal vehicles, loading and unloading assistance, and short or long term storage of Items. The precise scope of Services for each Client will be as set out in the quotation or booking confirmation issued by Storage Gidea Park.
Any additional services requested after the initial booking, such as extended storage, additional handling, or extra vehicle access support, will be subject to additional charges and availability.
3. Booking Process
All bookings are subject to availability and to acceptance by Storage Gidea Park. An enquiry or quotation does not in itself constitute a booking. A booking is only confirmed when Storage Gidea Park issues a written confirmation and the Client has complied with any deposit or prepayment requirements stated in the quotation.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all details provided at the time of booking are accurate and complete, including dates, times, service requirements, access conditions, and a general description of Items to be stored or handled. If the Client is using a separate removal company, the Client must ensure that dates and times are coordinated, as Storage Gidea Park accepts no liability for delays or additional costs arising from inaccurate or incomplete information.
Storage Gidea Park may refuse any booking or request for Services at its discretion, including where the nature of the Items or the requested services pose a safety, legal, or environmental risk.
4. Quotations and Pricing
Unless otherwise stated in writing, quotations are based on the information supplied by the Client and are valid for a limited period as indicated on the quotation. Storage Gidea Park reserves the right to amend or withdraw a quotation if the information provided by the Client is incomplete, inaccurate, or changes prior to the booking being confirmed.
Prices are usually calculated by reference to factors such as storage unit size, duration of storage, type and quantity of Items, level of handling assistance required, and any special access requirements. Additional charges may apply for:
Services outside normal working hours
Emergency or last minute bookings
Heavy, awkward, or difficult to handle Items
Extended use of loading areas or delays caused by the Client or third parties
Any applicable taxes or statutory charges will be added to the prices at the prevailing rate.
5. Payments and Deposits
Storage Gidea Park may require a deposit or upfront payment to secure a booking. The amount and due date of any deposit will be stated in the quotation or confirmation. No booking will be regarded as confirmed until the deposit is received in cleared funds where required.
For storage services, fees are generally payable in advance for each billing period, which may be weekly, monthly, or as otherwise specified. Should the Client fail to make payment by the due date, Storage Gidea Park may, at its discretion:
Suspend access to the Site or to the Client's storage unit
Refuse to release Items until all outstanding sums have been paid
Apply late payment charges or interest at a reasonable rate consistent with UK law
All payments must be made using the methods accepted by Storage Gidea Park at the time of booking or invoicing. The Client is responsible for any bank charges or transfer fees associated with their chosen payment method.
6. Cancellations and Amendments
The Client may cancel or amend a booking by giving notice to Storage Gidea Park. Any applicable cancellation or amendment charges will be set out in the quotation or booking confirmation and may vary depending on how much notice is given.
As a general guide, cancellations or significant changes made close to the scheduled start date of the Services may incur higher charges, which may include retention of some or all of any deposit paid. Storage Gidea Park will act reasonably in applying any such charges, taking into account any costs it has already incurred or commitments it has made on the Client's behalf.
If the Client fails to provide adequate access, information, or cooperation on the day of the booking so that the Services cannot be carried out, this may be treated as a cancellation by the Client and charges may apply as if the Client had cancelled on that date.
Storage Gidea Park may cancel or amend a booking where it is necessary to comply with health and safety requirements, legal obligations, or where events beyond its reasonable control make it impossible or impracticable to provide the Services as booked. In such cases, Storage Gidea Park will seek to offer an alternative date, time, or suitable arrangement, or will refund any sums paid for services not carried out, but will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
7. Client Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for:
Ensuring that all Items are properly packed, protected, and labelled before collection or storage, unless packing services have been expressly included in the Agreement
Ensuring that the Items are suitable for storage in the selected unit or area, considering factors such as temperature sensitivity, fragility, and value
Complying with all Site rules and safety instructions notified by Storage Gidea Park
Ensuring that access routes, driveways, and loading areas are clear, safe, and suitable for removal vehicles where applicable
Informing Storage Gidea Park promptly of any change to contact details, billing information, or service requirements
The Client must not store or request handling of any Items that are prohibited by law or by these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to hazardous materials, flammable or explosive substances, illegal goods, live animals, perishable food, or waste.
8. Prohibited and Restricted Items
Storage Gidea Park will not accept for storage or handling any Items that:
Are illegal, stolen, or obtained unlawfully
Include weapons, ammunition, explosives, or flammable liquids or gases
Include chemicals, toxic substances, asbestos, or other hazardous materials
Are perishable, decomposable, or likely to attract vermin or pests
Include live animals, plants requiring special care, or any biological matter
If Storage Gidea Park discovers prohibited Items in storage or in the course of providing Services, it may, at its discretion, refuse to continue with the Services, require the Client to remove such Items immediately, or arrange for their removal and disposal at the Client's cost, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Waste Regulations and Disposal
The Client is responsible for ensuring that no waste, rubbish, or unwanted materials are left at the Site or in storage units unless such disposal has been agreed in advance as part of the Services.
Storage Gidea Park is not a general waste disposal provider. Any agreement to dispose of Items will be subject to separate charges and will be carried out in accordance with UK waste and environmental regulations. Storage Gidea Park may refuse to dispose of Items that it reasonably believes are unsafe, unlawful, or environmentally harmful.
The Client must not use the Site or storage unit as a place to dump waste or to store Items intended for unlawful disposal. If waste is left behind or if additional cleaning, clearance, or decontamination is required as a result of the Client's actions, the Client will be responsible for the costs incurred.
10. Access and Security
Access to the Site and storage units is subject to the access hours, security procedures, and identification requirements notified by Storage Gidea Park from time to time.
The Client must keep any keys, access codes, or security information secure and must not share them with unauthorised persons. The Client is responsible for any actions taken using their access credentials. Storage Gidea Park may change access procedures or security measures for safety or operational reasons.
Storage Gidea Park will take reasonable steps to maintain the security of the Site, but it does not guarantee absolute security of Items stored. The Client is advised to arrange appropriate insurance for their Items as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
11. Insurance and Limitation of Liability
Unless expressly stated in writing, Storage Gidea Park does not provide insurance cover for the Client's Items. The Client is strongly advised to arrange suitable insurance to cover loss of or damage to Items during storage, handling, loading, unloading, and any related removal activities.
Storage Gidea Park will not be liable for:
Loss or damage arising from the inherent nature, condition, or defects of the Items
Loss or damage caused by fair wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or atmospheric or climatic conditions
Loss of profits, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential losses
Any loss or damage arising where the Client has failed to comply with these Terms and Conditions or has supplied inaccurate or incomplete information
Subject to any non-excludable rights under UK law, the total liability of Storage Gidea Park for loss of or damage to Items, or for any other claim arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to a reasonable amount proportionate to the fees paid for the relevant Services, subject to any specific limits stated in the quotation or Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Default and Lien
If the Client fails to pay any sums due under the Agreement, or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions, Storage Gidea Park may exercise a lien over the Items. This means that Storage Gidea Park may retain possession of the Items until all outstanding sums, including storage charges, handling fees, and any enforcement costs, have been paid.
If outstanding sums remain unpaid after reasonable notice has been given, Storage Gidea Park may sell or otherwise dispose of some or all of the Items to recover the amounts due. Any surplus after costs and sums owed have been deducted will be returned to the Client where the Client can be reasonably located.
13. Force Majeure
Storage Gidea Park will not be liable for any delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of its obligations under the Agreement where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, fire, flood, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism, breakdown of equipment, or failure of utilities.
Where a force majeure event occurs, Storage Gidea Park will use reasonable efforts to resume performance of the Services as soon as reasonably practicable.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
Storage Gidea Park will process personal data relating to the Client in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Personal data may be used to manage bookings, process payments, provide the Services, enforce these Terms and Conditions, and meet legal or regulatory requirements.
By using the Services, the Client consents to Storage Gidea Park holding and processing their personal data for these purposes. The Client has the right to request access to personal data held about them and to request correction of any inaccuracies.
15. Variations to Terms
Storage Gidea Park may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking or Agreement will apply to that booking, unless a change is required by law or regulation, in which case the updated terms may apply immediately.
Any variation to these Terms and Conditions proposed by the Client will have no effect unless expressly agreed in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Storage Gidea Park.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided by Storage Gidea Park.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by any court or competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from the remaining provisions, which shall continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation issued by Storage Gidea Park, constitute the entire Agreement between Storage Gidea Park and the Client in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether oral or written.
The Client acknowledges that in entering into the Agreement, they have not relied on any statement, representation, assurance, or warranty that is not expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions or in the relevant quotation or confirmation.
