Gideapark Storage Service Terms and Conditions

Customer booking a storage unit at Gideapark StorageThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Gideapark Storage provides storage services to customers. By making a booking, placing goods into storage, or otherwise using the service, you agree to comply with these terms in full. Please read them carefully before confirming any reservation or delivering items to the storage facility. These terms are intended to be a clear legal page for the use of the service and should be read together with any booking confirmation, invoice, and instructions issued by Gideapark Storage.

For the purposes of these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the storage provider, and "you" or "the customer" refers to the person or business entering into the storage agreement. The words storage unit, storage space, and stored goods are used broadly and may include rooms, containers, lockers, or any other area made available under the service. Where a booking is accepted, these terms form a binding agreement for the duration of the storage period.

Payment and invoice details for storage servicesWe may update these terms from time to time. Any revised version will apply to new bookings and, where reasonably necessary, to existing arrangements after notice has been provided. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items you store comply with these terms throughout the rental period, not only at the time of booking. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Booking process begins when you submit a reservation request and provide accurate details about the items to be stored, the intended storage period, and the required unit size or type. A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted your request and, where applicable, received the required deposit, advance payment, or completed documentation. We may refuse or cancel a booking before confirmation for operational, legal, or safety reasons.

When completing a booking for Gideapark Storage services, you must ensure that all information is true, complete, and current. This includes your name or business name, address, contact details, and any special requirements affecting the use of the unit. You must not book storage for another person unless you are authorised to do so. If you book on behalf of a company, partnership, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

Once the reservation is accepted, we will confirm the start date, storage access arrangements, and any conditions attached to the unit. You should check all confirmation details immediately and notify us of any errors without delay. We may require identification and proof of address before permitting access. Access rights are limited to the customer and any persons expressly authorised by the customer and accepted by us, subject to any security rules or building procedures in force at the time.

Stored goods inside a secure self storage unitPayments for storage services at Gideapark must be made on time and in the manner specified on the invoice, booking confirmation, or payment schedule. Fees may include rent, deposits, late payment charges, administrative fees, key or access device charges, and any agreed extras. Unless stated otherwise, charges are payable in advance. Storage fees are calculated by reference to the agreed unit, period, and service level, and not by reference to the quantity or value of the items stored.

We may review and amend charges from time to time. Any change to the rental rate will be communicated in advance where reasonably practicable and will take effect in accordance with the notice provided. If your payment fails, is reversed, or remains outstanding after the due date, we may suspend access to the unit, decline future bookings, or take other steps permitted by law. You remain liable for all sums due until they are paid in full.

Accepted payment methods may vary and may include bank transfer, card payment, or other approved methods. Any refunded amount may be reduced by lawful deductions, including fees already incurred, administrative costs where permitted, or losses caused by cancellation or breach. All payments must be made without set-off or counterclaim unless required by law. If you dispute any charge, you must notify us promptly with full supporting information, but this does not suspend your duty to pay undisputed amounts on time.

Cancellations and termination by the customer must be made in accordance with the notice period stated at booking or on the confirmation document. If no specific notice period is stated, you must give reasonable notice before the end of the current storage period. Unless otherwise agreed, fees already paid are non-refundable once the storage period has started, except where a refund is required by law or where we are unable to provide the agreed service for reasons within our control.

We may cancel, suspend, or terminate the agreement immediately where you breach these terms, provide false information, store prohibited items, fail to pay amounts due, or behave in a way that creates a health, safety, or security risk. In less urgent cases, we may provide notice and require you to remove your goods by a specified date. If you do not collect your items by the termination date, you must continue to pay charges until the items are removed or otherwise lawfully dealt with.

If the agreement ends for any reason, you must remove all stored goods, leave the unit clean and empty, and return any access devices promptly. Any items left behind may be treated as abandoned where permitted by law. We may store, move, dispose of, or sell abandoned items to recover sums owed, subject to any legal notice requirements. Any proceeds from a lawful sale may be applied against outstanding debts and reasonable costs incurred in dealing with the goods.

Waste and prohibited items notice for storage premisesLiability and customer responsibility are important parts of these terms. You store goods at your own risk, except to the extent that damage or loss is caused by our negligence, fraud, or deliberate breach of duty. We do not exclude or limit liability where such exclusion would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law. Subject to that, we are not responsible for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or business interruption.

You are responsible for ensuring that all items are adequately insured for their full replacement value, including against theft, fire, water damage, pest damage, accidental damage, and any other risks you consider relevant. We do not automatically insure stored goods unless this is expressly included in the service and confirmed in writing. You must not rely on our security measures as a substitute for your own insurance. Where we offer insurance or protection options, any separate policy or terms may apply in addition to these conditions.

You are also responsible for packing, wrapping, and labelling your goods appropriately. Fragile, perishable, combustible, odorous, hazardous, or temperature-sensitive items must only be stored if we have given prior written approval. We are not liable for damage caused by poor packing, inherent defect, mould, infestation, dampness resulting from the nature of the item, or deterioration over time. You must inspect stored goods regularly, where access is permitted, and remove anything that becomes unsafe or prohibited during the storage period.

Waste regulations must be followed at all times when using Gideapark Storage facilities. You must not deposit waste, rubbish, unwanted furniture, packaging, liquid waste, electrical waste, hazardous materials, clinical waste, asbestos, oils, chemicals, batteries, gas cylinders, or any other controlled substances in or around the storage unit unless we have expressly authorised such material in writing and it is lawful to do so. The unit is for storage of goods only and is not a waste disposal service.

You must comply with all applicable waste management, environmental, and safety laws, including any rules relating to the handling, transport, segregation, and disposal of waste. If your goods become waste, contaminated, spoiled, or dangerous, you must remove and dispose of them lawfully and without delay. We may require immediate removal of any material we reasonably believe breaches waste regulations or presents a risk to people, property, or the environment.

Governing law and service terms document for storageIf prohibited waste is found in a unit, we may take any reasonable steps to secure the area, notify the appropriate authorities where required, and recover all reasonable costs, losses, and expenses arising from the incident. This may include cleaning, decontamination, specialist disposal, staff time, storage interruption, and damage to our property or reputation. You will be fully responsible for the consequences of any breach of waste rules by you, your employees, agents, contractors, or anyone you allow access to the unit.

Security, access, and use of the premises are provided subject to availability and operational requirements. You must keep access codes, keys, lock combinations, and any other security credentials confidential and must not share them with unauthorised persons. You are responsible for all activity carried out using your access details unless we have been notified of a security issue in time to prevent misuse. Any lock provided by you or purchased from us must be suitable for the unit and used correctly at all times.

We may restrict or temporarily suspend access for maintenance, emergencies, safety checks, legal compliance, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where possible, we will aim to minimise disruption. You must not use the premises for unlawful purposes, live or sleep in the unit, carry out repairs, work involving dangerous substances, or obstruct common areas. All goods must be stored so that they do not damage the unit, interfere with other customers, or create fire, trip, or hygiene hazards.

Our employees, contractors, and authorised agents may enter a unit in limited circumstances, including where required for emergency response, to prevent damage, to inspect for unsafe conditions, or where reasonably necessary to enforce these terms. Except in an emergency or where immediate action is needed to protect people or property, we will use reasonable efforts to give notice before entry. Entry does not remove your responsibility for the contents of the unit.

Indemnity and general provisions apply to the extent permitted by law. You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these terms, your stored goods, your unlawful acts, or the acts of anyone you permit to access the unit. This includes claims brought by third parties and costs of enforcing our rights. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights where such rights cannot lawfully be excluded.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, fire, flood, industrial action, utility failure, government action, pandemics, or transport disruption. In such cases, our obligations may be suspended for the duration of the event, and we will resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable. If the event continues for an extended period, either party may be entitled to terminate the agreement on reasonable notice.

Governing law and jurisdiction: These terms and any dispute or claim arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless mandatory law requires otherwise. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the customer is habitually resident elsewhere in the UK and applicable consumer law gives the customer the right to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom. These terms are intended to operate as a clear and fair legal framework for the use of Gideapark Storage services.
